This is a good script to have on you page if you have more than one page linked to the specific page. For example, say you go to my Calvin & Hobbes Tribute Page, you can go to Character Profile: Calvin from a number of pages. If I put a "Back" button on the page, you would go to the page you clicked to go to Character Profile: Calvin. As far as "Forward", that only works if you've gone to a page, then came back using the back button on your browser or using the "Back" button on another page.
